Dublin

If ever a city made me feel immediately at home, it was Dublin. That could be because a nice man offered us directions while we struggled to read a map in the rain, or it could be because the city has an “open arms” culture. Regardless of which it was, the tradition continued throughout the whole three-day trip, and I felt like I never wanted to leave those people or neighborhoods.

Highlights:

  • Staying at a gorgeous, funky hostel full of nice travelers (it gave me unrealistic expectations for the rest of my hostel experiences.)
  • The Guinness Factory Tour and Gravity Bar
  • A traditional Irish meal of beef stew accompanied by stories of Irish folklore and live folk songs. Incredible.
  • Eating delicious tarts at the Queen of Tarts bakery restaurant… twice.
  • Coincidentally running into two friends from home in Dublin… also twice.
  • A fun guided walking tour, which included Trinity College and Temple Bar
  • Bangers and Mash in an Irish pub
